Description: Using this jutsu, Gaara can cover himself in a compacted layer of sand, providing an additional defense should his Shield of Sand fail. Though quite effective, maintaining the armor requires a large amount of chakra and stamina. Furthermore, it is nowhere as resilient as the Shield of Sand, since it easily breaks away upon impact, meaning that the sole purpose of the armor is to absorb impact channeled unto Gaara's body during battle. Another weakness is the additional weight of the sand means a decrease of speed and mobility.

Name: Sand Binding Coffin
Description: With his ability to control sand, Gaara encases his opponents in a large amount of the special chakra-infused sand kept inside his gourd, immobilizing them. It can be used to suffocate an opponent or in preparation for a deadlier technique, the Sand Waterfall Funeral. This appears to be Gaara's signature technique.

Name: Sand Clone Technique
Description: The Sand Clone is different from the other types of bunshinjutsu in that the sand does not completely assume the form of the user, but remains as sand the entire time. That is to say, the clone's form can be changed instantly into sand, and the enemy's body can be trapped. Its many applications with long-range attacks can have it act as a lure and a decoy. This is where it draws the line with other clones.

Limitations: The average user of this technique can create up to 1-4 clones, however, a master of this technique can make up to 5-10 clones.

Description: Using his ability to manipulate sand, Gaara will loosen the ground below his targets and cause them to sink two hundred meters into the earth. By being imprisoned at this depth, the pressure will completely nullify their ability to move. Also, the pressure resulting from being buried at such an extreme depth would surely kill any normal human, if not from suffocation

Limitations: After being used it has a 2 post cooldown.

Name: Sand Waterfall Funeral
Description: After wrapping an opponent with sand, Gaara will cause the sand to implode and crush whatever is within it. According to Gaara, when used to kill a person, the death is so quick that there isn't even time for the victim to feel any pain. The pressure also produces a sizable fountain of blood. Gaara can control the pressure used in the attack, which allows him to either break bones or completely liquefy an opponent.
Perquisite(s): The target must be caught in a sand coffin in order to successfully use this technique.
Limitations: This technique can be used only when the target is trapped in a Sand Coffin, afterwards, it has a 5 post cooldown.
User(s): Only very experienced members of the Sabaku Clan are capable of using this technique to their advantage, for it is very destructive, and is fueled by a desire to kill.

Name: Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall
Description: This jutsu sends a massive amount of sand towards an opponent in the form of a wave, covering and "drowning" them in an ocean of sand. In addition to the wave effect of the jutsu, Gaara can control the sand, allowing him to attack his opponent while they attempt to outrun the wave. When Gaara used it against Kimimaro, it was shown that the technique can be so powerful as to change the landscape, as Gaara turned acres of forest land into nothing but a desert with occasional trees. This appears to be the only one of Gaara's sand based moves that requires hand seals, and in practice is virtually unavoidable. It is usually followed by an area crushing technique to kill the opponent.

Name: Sand Waterfall Imperial Funeral
Description: Following the Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall, Gaara slams both hands palm down into the sand, creating powerful shock waves that compress the sand. Anything buried in the sand is subsequently crushed. The compressions also create massive earthquakes.
Perquisite(s): The target(s) must be trapped in the Quicksand in the Style of a Waterfall Technique in order for this technique to be used effectively.
Limitations: This requires quite a lot of chakra since it manipulates a large land mass, therefore, the user is rendered totally exhausted after this technique is complete, and can't use it until 8 more posts.
User(s): Only Masters of the Sabaku Clan have been shown able to use this technique with utmost efficiency.

Distinct Features Many of the Clansman are born with intense, red hair. They are also known for the thick blackness glued to the borders of their eyes, a physical trait that Gaara has passed down to his descendants. Most members of the Sabaku Clan have rather pale skin - and all are born with an intent glare that can easily intimidate inexperienced Ninja, or simply people in general.
Traditions: All the members of this Clan use Sand Gourd's with their Clan's insignia on them - similarly to their Clan's founder: Gaara. They use these Gourds to amplify their control, and power over the Sand, and carry it (most commonly) around their backs. Otherwise, there aren't very many traditions.
History: This Clan was founded by Gaara and his main family. It all began with his father, the fourth Kazekage, and their Kekkei Genkai was amplified with Gaara's birth due to his experience with Shukaku. Upon Shukaku's removal from Gaara, the Clan didn't lose their legendary Kekkei Genkai, instead Gaara was revived and had enough experience with Sand release that he continued to manipulate it with utmost prominence. As the years went by, Gaara would have children, and their children would have children. This became the foundation of the Sabaku Clan. Though Gaara failed to pass down all of his secret techniques, the Clan managed to maintain quite a lot of Gaara's knowledge of Sand release, and have since used it to their advantage. The Sabaku Clan is very admirable, and looked highly upon. Most of the Clansman are quite the prodigies among Sunagakure.
